COVID Missionary Chronicles: The Little Things

Image
¡Hola a todos! I'm back with another week of adventures here in northern GA!! I hope everyone had a good week!! We have three birthday shout outs!! My aunt April, my grandpa Blackburn, and my little sister Morgan all had birthdays this week!! I love y'all som much and I hope your birthdays were as awesome as y'all are! So this week was a slow one. We are exhausting ourselves trying to find people to teach or who are willing to hear our message! Perseverance was the word of the week. It takes everything out of Sister Grover and I to get rejected over and over and still wake up the next day and do it all over again. I was reminded this week of a quote by Thomas S. Monson that says, "Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, 'I'll try again tomorrow.' ". This quote really got me through this week, because there were definitely times where I felt like I had hit a wall. It's the worst feeling in the world when you meet a fam...

¡Hola a todos! How was y'alls week? I hope it was so amazing!! Today we have two birthday shout outs!!! My cousin Mia had a birthday and my girl Mary Hunter has a birthday today!!! Happy birthday to both of you!!! I am so thankful for all of the encouraging notes and emails I got last week! There are definitely hard weeks, but I'm doing my best to keep my head up and keep moving forward!! Alright, this past week was way better and I've got some amazing stories for y'all!! This past week was the start of a new transfer, which opens a lot of opportunities for us to reevaluate and make changes to the way we do the work. For starters, even though it was so sad to say goodbye to Sister Robertson and Sister Rodgers, the new sister who moved into the apartment is way cool! Her name is Sister Flannery and she was originally called to South America so she's a Spanish missionary. Her Spanish is so good and she is so willing to help Sister Grover and I! I'm so excited to s...

COVID Missionary Chronicles: Spring Has Sprung...And It Attacked

¡Hola a todos! How is everyone doing? I hope everyone had a great week and saw God's hand in their life! We have two birthday shout-outs today!! The first is my cousin Adam Hall and the second is Sister Birch (Mama Birchie)!!! Happy Birthday to both of you!!! Alright y'all this week was a roller coaster. Here are some of the main points... First, we had a mission wide Facebook fast this week. President Harris wanted us to spend more effort working with members and with Area Book. At the beginning of last week, I was super excited at this opportunity, but it proved to be more of a challenge than I originally thought. Area Book is a great tool for us to use but if can also be kind of difficult as well. Everyone on our Area Book has met with missionaries at one time so it's just a matter of continually inviting different people to hear more. We had a lot of people answer this week, which was a miracle, but most of them said they weren't interested. It's definitely hard...

COVID Missionary Chronicles: We're Going To Blairsville??

¡Hola a todos! How is everyone doing? Anything crazy happening in your lives? I hope that everyone got the opportunity to watch all of the sessions of Conference this past weekend, because it was really amazing! If you feel inclined, I'd love to hear from y'all about which talk you enjoyed the most! My Grandpa Adam's had his birthday last week as well!!! Happy Birthday Grandpa!!! This week was a little different, we had a lot of meetings and trainings so we didn't do as much teaching but it was still a really good week!  Sister Grover and I had exchanges this week, so that was awesome! For anyone who dosen't know what exchanges are, it's when we are split up to work with different companions for the day. We go on exchanges with our TL'S (training leaders) so I spent all of Wednesday with Sister Foster and Sister Mavae! They are both way cool and I learned a lot from my time with them. While I was with them, we taught a lesson to a less-active member who is t...
