Missionary Chronicles: A Missionary's Prayer

Image
Hola a todos!  I hope y'all had a great week full of miracles and tender mercies! Before I get into the email I want to wish a quick happy birthday to my cousins Andrea, Greta, and Harrison. Happy birthday guys!! As y'all can tell from the title, I'm going to talk a little about prayer in this email. As y'all know I've been kind of frustrated lately because we've really been struggling to find more people to teach. Every night I've been praying and pleading with the Lord to guide us to those who are prepared to make covenants with God. I've been praying for opportunities to teach the gospel in Spanish and grow in my language abilities as I help others grow their faith. Each night I have a tender conversation with Heavenly Father asking for more opportunities to help more people. I've been working on applying the principles that President Harris has taught about praying with knowledge and praying for things that I know my will and the Lord's are a...

Missionary Chronicles: Laughed Until We Cried

Hola a todos! I hope everyone had a great last week! This week was crazy and it honestly felt like an entire transfer stuffed into one week. Let me fill y'all in. So this week I went on my first exchange as a TL. It was super cool to be on the leadership side of the exchange for the first time. I went to La Vista and was comps with Hermana Nava and Hermana Poulsen for the day. I went down there and got to see how their area is going. I got to meet some of the members and get a feel for the work going on! It was a great exchange and we got a lot of great work done while I was down there! We tried super hard to teach this week but we weren't very successful with it. We have been having a super difficult time finding more people to teach. However, we did see some miracles with finding yesterday. After turning in some pretty lousy numbers for lessons this month, we found a little extra motivation. We decided that for the hour and a half before church, we were going to go and just s...

Hola a todos! I'm sorry I'm getting this out later than normal. I've been so crazy busy this week! Before I get into it, I have one birthday shout-out! My Grandma Adams had a birthday this week!! Happy birthday Grandma! Alright y'all, this week was so busy! I don't think I've worked this hard my whole mission lol. However, I'm loving it! I'm now living in Lawrenceville, GA and I'm serving in the Riverside Spanish Branch! I'm in a trio for the first time and my two companions are absolute beasts! Two of the hardest workers I know! Somehow I got really lucky because I was already amazing friends with both Hermana Pease and Hermana Broderlow and now we get to be companions haha.  We are also the TL's here in the Lilburn Zone. We are over 5 companionship of Sisters (12 Sisters). As TL's we work with the Zone Leaders to give trainings, conduct exchanges, facilitate the work in the Zone, set goals for the Zone, and a lot more hahah. Everyday is...

Missionary Chronicles: Excuse Me...WHAT?!?

Hola a todos!! How was everyone's week? Y'all this week was crazy and I have a lot to fill y'all in on! Honestly, this week and the events that occurred could be made into a full length movie lol. The craziest stuff happend and I'm honeslty just all over the place haha.  As far as teaching goes, we were finally able to get in and start teaching Guinevere the new member lessons. It went super well and we were super happy to finally get back in over there. We didn't have a lesson with Macy this week, but she came to church again and brought her twin girls! They were the cutest and the ward has scooped them up already! We did a good amount of services this week. One particular project we did involved moving and 8ft.×8ft hot tub down the road to one of our members houses. That was an experience I'll never forget lol. We also did some more work for Brother Terry. This week we helped him to clean out his barn and throw away all of his unnecessary tools haha. Some of i...

Missionary Chronicles: From Fans To Fires

Hola a todos! How was everyone's week? I hope it was great and you were presented with opportunities to serve. Before I get into the email, we have two birthday shout-outs! My cousins Lydia and Greyson both had birthdays this week! Happy Birthday y'all!! Alright, so this week was one of the most emotionally taxing weeks I've had on my mission. It was a Rollercoaster and looking back, there was a lot of opportunities for growth. For starters, y'all remember our friend Macy who we're teaching. Last Sunday she didn't come to church and that really disappointed me. I've said before that the purpose of my mission is for me to become more like the Savior. Feeling the disappointment that comes from someone not keeping the commitments we give them is one of those ways I feel like God is allowing me to become more like Jesus Christ. Because Macy didn't come to church last week, we were forced to brainstorm ideas for a new baptismal date. Sister Christman likely w...
