COVID Missionary Chronicles: CCM

Hola mi familia y amigas!

How was everyone 's week? Anything crazy happen for anyone? I find it hard to believe I've already been a missionary for a week now! It doesn't feel like it's been that long at all! Let me just say, being a missionary is my FAVORITE thing!! I haven't been this happy in a long time! I wake up every morning excited and ready to get to work serving the Lord!

My companion in the CCM (MTC Mexico) is Hermana Tesimale! She is so amazing and I have loved every second working with and getting to know her! She lives in South Carolina, so we're in the same time zone! That has made it really easy to schedule meetings and such haha.

My district is absolutely PHENOMENAL! It's crazy how close we have grown in the past 7 days! You'd think we have known each other our whole lives! In my district, we have 6 Elders and 6 Hermanas (aka my missionary family lol). The testimonies of every one of them strengthen my own everyday!

This past week has been one the best yet also the hardest of my life. I have cried more in the past 7 days than I have in the past 4 months haha. I am definitely learning to have patience with myself. I have never worked harder or prayed more than I have trying to learn Spanish. One of the elders in my district said something that I really loved last night. He said "It's crazy how much the Spirit can testify through a screen". It's so true I have felt the Spirit so strong this past week with everything I do! I love being a missionary so much!!

The scripture that has become my theme this week is Doctrine and Covenants 10:4-5. It reads, "Do not run faster or labor more than you have strength and means provided to enable you to translate; but be diligent unto the end. Pray always, that you may come off conqueror; yea, that you may conquer Satan, and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work.". One of my teachers, Hermana Hernandez shared this scripture with me during one of my one-on-one meetings with her. She gave me this scripture after I asked her what else I could be doing to learn Spanish. She shared this scripture and told me to trust the process haha. I have definitely been working to apply that in my life and my process of learning Spanish.

Well everyone, that's all for this week. I hope y'all have a great upcoming week! I love and miss you all!
