Covid Missionary Chronicles: GANM Covid Outbreak

Hola a todos!

It feels like centuries since I've written an email haha. I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Years! It's hard to believe that it's already 2022! Time is flying y'all!!

Life has been pretty crazy here in Georgia! My Christmas on the mission didn't look like I had imagined it would but it was still one I'll never forget!

Do y'all remeber that big mission Christmas Gathering that happend a couple weeks ago? Well, it was an awesome experience and I absolutely loved getting to see all of the missionaries! The only problem was that one of the Sisters who went had COVID and didn't know it and within a week half of the mission had COVID including me and my whole apartment lol. COVID is definitely not a fun experience and I wouldn't reccomend it but it was nice to be able to rest for that week and get a little bit of a break. However, after a week in quarantine we were so ready to get back out and start working again!

We had a couple of cool experiences with teaching and finding this week after we got out of quarantine! We have a YSA in our branch who's name is Andrelise. Earlier this week she asked if she could start meeting with us again because she wants to keep growing her testimony. We of course jumped on that opportunity and invited her to invite a friend to the lesson as well. She brought her friend Carolina and it turns out that she's actually super interested! We are looking forward to working with both of them. During out time in quarantine I really missed tracting in México so that was one of the first places we went after getting out! As we were waiting around we saw this guy sitting on his truck bed. We walked up and I started talking to him. His name is José and he's a pretty devote Catholic but we were able to have a solid conversation! We gave him a Book of Mormon and we talked with him about the Restoration and the Priesthood! Hopefully we can get back in with him as well because he's super cool!

Being in quarantine over Christmas definitely wasn't the way I expected to spen Christmas on the mission but it was still so amazing! We were super well taken care of by the members and our friends here in this area. The amount of plants and natural treatments that the Latinos had me trying still baffles my mind but it was an experience that I'll never forget!

I hope that y'all have a great upcoming week filled with miracles and tender mercies! Good luck to everyone with starting this New Year! 2022 is going to be a great one! Thanks for all of your continued support! I love y'all!!
