COVID Missionary Chronicles: The Big News

Hola a todos!!! 

How is everyone doing? Anything crazy happening to anyone? This week we have two birthday shout outs!! My dad and my cousin Kolter both had birthdays on the 20th!! Happy birthday guys! I love you both so much!

As you can tell from the email title, I have big news!! drum roll please....I FLY TO GEORGIA IN 5 DAYS!!! I am so excited to get to my missions and start working! I feel ready and I couldn't be more excited to just start serving! My time in the CCM has been so amazing! I have learned so much from the missionaries in my district and from my instructors. It's going to be a really hard good-bye, but I know that I  have made 12 new life-long friends through my time in the MTC!

As my time in the MTC has begun to wind down, I have taken the opportunity to think back to when I first started and how much I have grown since then. I want to share an excerpt from my journal on 1/21/2021 (First day of real MTC). "Today was my first real day of MTC, and it was pretty crazy! My instructors spoke a lot of Spanish and we really dove head-first into the language. At the end of the day today, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with everything." Looking back on this journal entry now, I can't help but smile because I remember so clearly how scared I felt and how worried I was about this whole experience. Now, I want to share some of my journal from last night. "Tonight during our devotional review, I was overwhelmed with the Spirit and an immense love for my district and the opportunity I have to be a missionary. The only tears that fell tonight were out of love and gratitude for my Heavenly Father and this incredible experience."

My time in the MTC has really been a life-changing one, and to think my time as a missionary is only beginning makes me so excited for what the future holds! I can't wait to be an instrument in the Lord's hands on my mission and find out what work the Lord has for me to do! 

2 Nephi 16:8 

   "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: Here am I; send me."
