COVID Missionary Chronicles: CCM

Hola a todos!!

   How has everyone's week? I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! We had another birthday in my family this week!! Happy birthday to my aunt she-she (Ashley)!! Love you she-she!!

   This week was great! Things are starting to get real,as I only have 2 1/2 weeks until I leave for Georgia!!! I couldn't be more excited to just get out and work! I am starting to understand more of the language! When people talk to me in lessons, I'm normally able to make out most of what they are saying, however speaking is still coming slow lol. I have been doing a lot of work this week planning and making lesson plans for TRC's and our mock-teachings with our instructors. Let me tell you writing lesson plans in Spanish is not easy. I have had to really simplify my thoughts because I don't know how to say most of what I want to. I have really had to listen to the spirit during lessons and take the discussion where he needs it.

   I spoke in Stake Conference this past Sunday. I spoke on getting on the covenant path and how it relates to the Home-MTC. I think it went really well, and everyone seemed to really love it. This Sunday was also the superbowl, and let me tell you my inner football enthusiast was really having a hard day lol. I was informed of the Bucs big win when fireworks began being shot off outside my window! I also found out that my Mission President played in the NFL! He played for the 49ers in the late 90's! So cool!!

   This week I memorized all of D&C 4 in Spanish! This was definitely a large task but the Spirit helped me along the way! Last night mom and I started reading the Book of Mormon together. She read a verse in English and then I read the next in Spanish. Hopefully this will help with my pronunciation and my ability to understand while I'm reading!
