COVID Missionary Chronicles
Hola a todos!!
How was everyone's week? I hope it was great and everyone was able to see God's hand! We had three birthdays this week!! Happy Birthday to my cousins Hunter Dryden and Carolyn Hall as well as my uncle Aaron! Happy birthday
guys! Love and miss you!!
This week has been pretty crazy haha. We have started this thing that my teachers call "Todo Espanol" (all spanish). This basically means every devotional, answer to question, thought in class, everything has to be in Spanish. I have noticed that some of my district, myself included, have become more reluctant to share in class haha. I am getting better though and my understanding of the language increases every day! My speaking is still slow in coming, but it is improving!
We have started doing a lot more TRC's and I am really starting to see the benefits! This week, Hermana Tesimale and I were teaching a lesson sobre el Evengelio de Jesuscristo (About the gospel of Jesus Christ). At the end, we challenged our investigator to pray and ask God in faith if what we had taught was true, she expressed some reluctance and I received a quiet prompting to promise her that if she prayed she would receive the answers she was looking for and she would feel closer to God than ever before. I followed this prompting and was able to deliver this promise smoothly despite not having originally planned what I would say. It was actually a really cool experience to work with the Spirit in this way!
Finally, since this past weekend was Valentines Day, I wanted to share my favorite example of love from the scriptures. It's in Luke 17 and it's the story when Jesus healed the 10 Lepers. These were people who had been cast out of the city and were considered to be the lowest of all people. However, our Savior showed his perfect love and met them where they were and healed them! What happens next is also very important. In verses 15 and 16 it reads "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan." I hope that we are all like this one individual who turned back to give thanks! This is a really powerful chapter and I encourage all to read it!
Alright, that's all I have this week! I hope y'all have a great upcoming week! Look for little miracles everyday! Love y'all!
