COVID Missionary Chronicles: Expect The Unexpected

¡Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? I hope that it was amazing and that you all witnessed miracles!! We have three birthday shout-outs this week!! We have my cousin Taylor, my Sister Jordyn, and my OG college roommate Emma!!! Happy birthday to y'all! I hope it was amazing!!

Alright everybody this week was wild to say the least haha. Hopefully this email dosen't end up too long...I will try my best.

So for starters, we finally had a lesson this week!! After four weeks of not meeting, we finally met with Rosa again! It was so awesome to connect again and to feel of her sweet spirit! There is something special about sitting at the Round Table in the Hilton's house and teaching this sweet lady. We kind of did a recap of all that we've taught so far because it's been forever since we met. She was super open with us and we had a great discussion. We also got a new referral this week! This isn't a rare thing, but it is rare when they actually want to meet with you! His name is Alvarado and we have a lesson set up with him next week! The Lord is answering our prayers in his own timing and I couldn't be more grateful!

Y'all know that we have been praying hard to find more work to do and boy was that prayer answered...but not in the way we expected. On Wednesday, we had interviews with President Harris (fun fact: it was also his birthday lol). For some reason he chose to make my I interview the first of the day lol. I walked in and we were just chatting about the work and about the Azalea Branch. He was asking me all kind of questions about the Branch and when I finished answering, he just sat there silent for a solid minute. He then said, "Sit tight Hermana, I'm going to get Hermana Grover and the ZL's (zone leaders)." Freaking out is an understatement for how I felt at this moment lol. He came back in, and said, "Hermanas, I feel like y'all need to be doing some English work.". I kid you not, my jaw dropped. This was not at all what I was expecting from my interview haha. So yeah, now Sister Grover and I are covering the Azalea Branch and part of the Coal Mountain Ward. Our primary focus is still the Branch but as far as Coal Mountain goes, we're over the YW and the Relief Society! We are sooo excited to start working with these amazing Sisters. Our prayers were definitely answered, because now we have more work than ever before! It has been interesting, trying to figure out how we're going to balance our work now. However, we are so grateful the opportunity to serve more of the people in this area. We have already met some great people from the Coal Mountain ward and we are excited to see what the Lord has instore for us!

Another miracle we had three people at church again this week! Ana Maria came again and it was awesome to see her! We have another older woman from Columbia in our Branch and she and Ana Maria really hit it off lol! They were so hilarious laughing together and speaking wicked fast Spanish. Hopefully Ana Maria is someone we can start teaching. She seems to really appreciate fellowshiping with the Branch, so hopefully that can be a way for us to start teaching her!

Last but not least, Hermana Grover and I got our First COVID Vaccine this week. The first day was good, but the second day knocked us both out haha. Thankfully after we got some sleep it wore off haha, but we're scared for a bit there lol.

Alright everyone, that all I've got for this week! Remember to keep the Lord in your sights as you go about this next week! I promise you will see miracles as you do so!! Love y'all!!
