COVID Missionary Chronicles: The Call

¡Hola a todos!

How are y'all doing? I hope everyone had a good week and found something to be happy about! We have two birthday shout-outs this week! My cousin Kendyl and my beautiful mama both had birthdays this week! Happy birthday to both of y'all! I love you guys!

This week was a good one. We stayed pretty busy and got a lot of work done, which is awesome!

For starters, we had a pretty awesome Pday last week. From what I understood, it was historic as well lol. We had our first ever GANM Mission Pday! All 204 missionaries all gathered in Lilburn and we had a huge pday all together! It was way cool! We spent the day split into districts, playing games and doing other competitions against the other districts. It was super fun! At the end of the day, we had a devotional from President and Sister Harris. I really enjoyed the day and it was awesome seeing a gym full of missionaries all working toward the same goal.

On Wednesday we went and did service at Emili's. She's been wanting to repaint her trailer home, but currently its covered in dirt and moss. We spent a good amount of time scrubbing the trailer with brooms and bleach. It was super hot and super hard but we still had a good time. And afterwards, Emili made us empanadas!!

We also visited with Sister Roundy this week. We ended up doing genealogy with her for 3 hours hahaha. She's hilarious! She just loves when people come and visit her and we love seeing her so happy.

Teaching was pretty slow this week. We were supposed to have a couple lessons this week, but they all canceled. We did have another English Class with Crystian though. Her mom is here now from Honduras so that's super fun! Their family is so cute!! Crystian's English is already super good so it's fun to go and just chat with her and help her with pronunciation. She's awesome!

On Saturday night, we had a very southern experience. We had a Shrimp Boil with the Waits family in the Coal Mountain Ward. It was so fun!! The way that Brother Waits just dumped the pot of food into the middle of the table actually killed me lol. The food was amazing and it was even better with good company.

Alright y'all...so the call. We got transfer calls last night and Hermana Grover is headed out. My new companion's name is Hermana Lambert. The past 12 weeks with Hermana Grover have been amazing! She has been the best trainer and I've learned so much from her. I'm excited to meet Hermana Lambert tomorrow and to start working with her. I'm excited to see what the Lord has instore for our Area.

Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week. I hope this next week is amazing for y'all! Remember to keep moving forward with faith! Love y'all!!
