COVID Missionary Chronicles: A Great Work

¡Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? I hope it was amazing! Birthday shout-outs for today go to my uncles Jamie and Eric! Happy Birthday!!

Alright y'all this week was spent mostly adjusting and getting going with this new transfer, but it was still pretty good! My new companion's name is Hermana Lambert. She's from Concord, California and has been out on her mission for 7 months. She's cool and she has a really powerful testimony! Sister Abbot also went home, so we welcomed another new Sister into the apartment as well. Her name is Sister Porter and she's from Eagle Mountain, Utah. She is hilarious and she's always in a good mood which makes life super fun!

As far as teaching went this week it was super slow lol. At the beginning of the week we had a bunch of lessons scheduled to open up the transfer but they all ended up canceling on us haha. Until Saturday night...
Quick story, so a few weeks ago Hermana Hermana Grover and I were going through our area Book and contacting all of our grey dots. We came across this one lady named Jessica and decided to give her a call. We did and she said that she'd be interested in meeting with us again! For about 3 weeks we tried to get a meeting scheduled and she just kept on canceling on us last minute. Finally on Saturday night we were able to have our first lesson with her. She is so cool!! She is super active in another Christian  church so it was nice to find and discuss the common ground that we have. We taught her the first part of the Restoration and got to hear her testimony on the Savior. She's incredible and we are looking forward to our next lesson with her next week.

Last night we had our Zone Transfer Kick-off with the Stake President. The topic of the meeting was the Power and Authority of our callings. I highly recommend any new missionaries to read this section in Preach My Gospel (it's in Chapter 1). It was a really powerful and really motivating discussion. President Pennington said something that I really loved. He said, "The Lord has chosen you missionaries to be apart of the Great Work because he has confidence in your ability further his work". Its always awesome to hear how much confidence the Lord truly does have in us. It's easy to get into the mindset of not feeling like a good enough missionary, and I've definitely had days like that. However, it's also important to remember that we have been called and chosen for this work. I love being a missionary so much and I look forward to what the Lord has up ahead for me!

Alright y'all that's all I have for this week. Hopefully next week I'll have a more interesting email for y'all lol. I hope everyone has a great upcoming week! Keep the Faith!
