COVID Missionary Chronicles: "Conoce Jorge Smith?"

 ¡Hola a todos!

Cómo están? I hope everyone had a great week and you saw the tender mercies from God. This week was super interesting and I'm excited to fill y'all in, but first...the shout-outs.  My cousin Brynna has a birthday today!! Along with that, I also got news that my cousin Kolter is engaged!! A huge congratulations to Kolter and Nicole!

Ok, so for starters we had Zone Conference this week. Zone Conference is one of my favorite events of every transfer! I got to see Hermana Grover again and I was also asked to play a special musical number! The topic of Zone Conference was the Book of Mormon and how we can better use it to our advantage as missionaries. We got a lot of good advice from President Harris and as we've applied it, we've seen miracles. Hermana Lambert and I were blessed with the opportunity to place a Book of Mormon in the hands of 9 of God's children here in Georgia this week! We are definitely being led by the Spirit to those who are prepared. I want to share a quick miracle that we had from this...

On Friday the weather shot up and it was in the upper 90s with insane humidity. However, we felt like we needed to go walk these three streets. It's in a really rough part of town but we felt like that was where we needed to be. We walked up and down these three streets for close to an hour in the heat. On our way back to the car, there was a guy who drove past then pulled into a driveway a couple houses up the road. When we got up to his house he shouted and said, "Y'all ladies must be committed to something to be walking out here in this heat". I replied, "Yes sir we are" and he said, "Why don't y'all come tell me about it". So that's exactly what we did! We talked for a little bit about the Book of Mormon and about what he believes. We then left him with a copy of the Book of Mormon with a promise that if he reads it, he will find answers. That promise is true for everyone! As I've been reading the Book of Mormon along with my mission, I've seen so many miracles. I don't understand every word in Spanish, but as I read the Lord makes the important pieces become clear in my mind.

I also want to share with y'all the funny story that goes along with the email title haha. We taught one lesson this week and it was an English class with a lady named Ruth. After every English class, we teach a short spiritual thought to close the class. We had planned to just do an introduction to the Book of Mormon but the Lord had other plans haha. Turns out, Ruth talked to missionaries before back in Venezuela. She then kept saying the name, "Jorge" and we were just beyond confused. She then started talking about how this said "Jorge" saw God and Jesus Christ. It finally clicked that she was trying to talk about Joseph Smith. I said, "ohhh José Smith" haga. We all had a pretty good laugh off of that one. We then taught her the Restoration. It was super powerful and she said that she'd like to learn more about it, so along with her English classes we'll teach her the lessons.

Miracles are flooding this area. They aren't huge miracles but we see the hand of God everyday!

Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week. I hope y'all have a great upcoming week. If you ever need prayers or anything, please don't hesitate to reach out! I love y'all so much! Remember to count your blessings!! Love y'all!
