COVID Missionary Chronicles: "Sometimes It Takes A Bit Of Tastin' Dirt To Get Back In The Saddle And Understand Hard Work"

¡Hola a todos!

I hope everyone had a great week! Anything crazy going on back home? Fill me in haha. As far as birthdays go this week, we have two! My uncle David had a birthday and my best friend, Dakota Birch has a birthday TODAY!! Happy birthday to both of y'all! I hope it was amazing!

From the title of my email, you may be able to guess that this week was somewhat difficult. Not every week is going to be picture perfect, and the Lord definitely reminded us of that this week.

We had a whole bunch of lessons scheduled for this week and all of them canceled except for Rosa. Rosa's lesson went super well though! We taught her about temples and family history. She was super into the idea that her relatives who are already in the Spirit World can have the chance to hear the gospel. She is learning so much about the gospel and I love getting to work with her.

We also did some service this week to fill all of our lost lesson time. We went over to help the Waits family prepare to put their new fence in. We were digging holes for the posts, and it was not an easy job. However, we loved getting to spend that time with them and we got a good work out in haha. It was pretty funny I actually broke the wooden tool that they gave me to use.

We had district council at the someone in our mission Presidency's house and it was so cool! We did a ton of role plays and President Hilton commented on how much I've grown since the beginning of my mission. The mission is definitely some ups and downs but I am grateful to see how much I'm changing and improving.

We went finding with the TLs at a shopping center and we gave copies of the book of Mormon to these two girls who were pretty interested. We also met a guy who was baptized in our church when he was 15 but has since created his own church haha it's so cool all the people we get to meet.

One of the elders let me borrow their guitar this week and that's been so nice I've missed it so much. We went to Chili's and made some cookies and got Hermana Lambert vaccinated. Those were some highlights but definitely looking forward to this coming week which is the last week of the transfer. I'll be honest this transfer was a little tough but I've definitely learned a lot and I'm learning to trust in the Lord.

Can't wait to hear from y'all!! Hope you have a great week. Let me know how ai can pray for you! Love y'all!!
