Missionary Chronicles: "Who's Idea Was It To Go To A Western Store?!?"
¡Hola a todos!
How is everyone doing? I hope y'alls week were great and you saw the small miracles every day! Our birthday shout-out for this week goes to Sister Brown from my home ward!! I love you so much and hope your birthday was amazing!!
Alright y'all, I'm excited to fill you in on this week. We worked super hard and saw quite a few miracles through our efforts this week!
For starters, I hit 6 months as a missionary this week! It doesn't feel like it's been 6 months and time is flying by! I'm so excited to see what work the Lord has for me throughout the rest of my mission. I'm super lucky, because I got to hit 6 months surrounded by 6 of my really good friends here on the mission! The Sister in the Zone got together and we all went to Bruster's to get ice cream! It was awesome!
We also had Zone Conference this past week! It was so awesome!! The main topic at Zone Conference was weekly planning and how can we prepare ourselves to give our investigators our best shot. It was super good, and Hermana Crow and I had the chance to work with President Harris and plan for our friend Abel. President gave us some great advice and prayed with us as we asked for inspiration on how to help Abel progress. It was a really cool experience!!
As far as teaching goes, we had a miracle lesson with Abel on Saturday after Zone Conference!! We haven't been able to have a lesson with him for over a month because of timing conflicts, but on Saturday morning while we were weekly planning we messaged him and asked when we could meet this week and he said "Ahorita" (right now). We kind of freaked out haha, but thankfully we had just planned with President Harris the day before and we had everything laid out. We pulled a lesson together in 5 minutes and were able to teach Abel! It went very well!! We talked about repentance and how it's great to have a desire, but we have to act in faith as well! We were so grateful for this chance to teach him!
Our next miracle happened at church yesterday. Since the Cherokee Spanish area was opened last transfer, they haven't had anyone come to church until yesterday!! Hermana Crow and I were standing outside the chapel greeting the members as they walked into church and we see Hermana Arciniega helping Hermana Delgado and another old lady out of her car. They walk up to us and introduce their friend as Leoneedis and told us she's an investigator! The missionary statistical side of Hermana Crow and I starts going crazy as we realize that this lady already has memeber friends AND a ride to church!! That never happens!! Let alone a member just bringing a neighbor to church!! We talked to Leoneedis and she is super interested! We set up a lesson with her on Wednesday and we're going to have Hermana Arciniega and Hermana Delgado there too! Leoneedis is super cute! She's 86 years old and she's from Cuba! We are so beyond excited to work with her!
Now to explain the email title haha. Last Pday we decided to meet up with some Elders from our district. The Elders told us about a really cool western store near their house that they wanted to go to. Long story short, we go to this store and I was pretty sure I'd died and gone to Heaven lol! Anyone who knows me super knows that me in a western store could be potentially dangerous haha. We had a blast trying on boots and looking at all the cool tack and stuff they had in the store. And I came out empty handed which might be the biggest miracle on the week lol
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope y'all have a great upcoming week filled with miracles and tender mercies! Let me know if y'all need prayers for anything! Love y'all!!
Hermana Adams
