Missionary Chronicles: I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go
¡Hola a todos!
I've got an interesting email for y'all this week, so we'll see how this goes. We don't have any shout-outs this week, but I just want to say good luck to anyone who is starting school soon!
I guess I'll just start with my news. As y'all know we have transfers this Tuesday. We got our transfer call last night and I found out that I am being transferred to an English Area. My new area will be in the Paper Mill Ward in Roswell Zone and my new companion will be Sister Christman. Obviously there are a lot of feelings going on. I totally was not expecting to be switched English and I definitely wasn't expecting to be 6 week shafted out of Cherokee. These past 6 weeks here in Cherokee have been amazing! In just this short amount of time, I've learned to love this branch and the people soo much! I have loved every second I've spent working with Sister Crow! She has taught me so much and has gotten me through these past couple of weeks! I have loved my time here in Marietta and leaving on Tuesday is definitely going to be really difficult.
On a better note, we got to go to the temple last Tuesday! It was such a blessing to be back in the Lord's house! As we sat in the Celestial Room I was filled with so much peace and comfort. Coming off of a rough couple of weeks, being in the temple was exactly what I needed!
We were supposed to have a lesson with Lee this past Saturday but it didn't work out as we had planned haha. Here's the story...so we go to Lee's house and we sit down to start teaching. At this point Lee and Hermana Milagros decide that they want to cook for Hermana Crow and I. Hermana Milagros brings over a bag of frozen seafood and asks us for the directions to cook it (because she doesn't read English). As we're looking at the bag, we discover that the seafood expired about a year and a half ago. Without being rude about the food, we try to explain to Hermana Milagros that we don't have time to stay and eat because we had another appointment after. She decides to cook it anyway. Long story short, we had to leave before the food was done so we narrowly avoided eating expired seafood. Blessings come in interesting ways I guess haha.
For my spiritual thought I'd like to share a song that's been on my mind since last night. One of my favorite songs is "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go". This song is perfect for the situation I'm currently in. I don't know why President felt it neccessary to transfer me English, but I know that he receives revelation from the Lord. Although I'm called here to Georgia as a Spanish speaking missionary, there Lord is preparing people for me to help in the Paper Mill area. I'm moving forward in faith knowing that I'm on the Lord's errand. The same goes for all of us. As we go through life, we will be "called" to go and do certain things. I promise that as we follow that call, wherever it may be, and as we act in faith, we will see that hand of the Lord in all that we do.
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week. I look forward to updating y'all next time on my adventures in an English Area. I hope y'all have a great week! Let me know how I can pray for you! Love y'all!!
Hermana Adams
