Missionary Chronicles: The Power In Setting Goals

¡Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? Anything crazy going one for y'all? This week was super good over here, and I'm excited to fill y'all in!

The weather here in Georgia was crazy because of the recent storm. I'm not complaining though, because the temps have been in the high 60s to mid 70s. It kind of feels like fall haha.

We did a bunch of service this week as well. I meet our friend Mama T who the missionaries do service for all the time. She needed some help going through her garage and finding things worth selling. We also went and helped Brother Terry again. He asked us to come to the Redman's house and help him move and lay mulch around the property.

As far as lessons go, we taught Sam and Felix again. We kind of did a review on the Restoration because up until now we hadn't been able to get through the whole lesson lol. They're just so amazing and have so many questions so it's hard to get through an entire lesson. They are still struggling to accept the Spirit's witness as truth, but things are looking very bright for them! We weren't able to get in with Guinevere this week because her mom was out of town, but preparations for her baptism have begun and we're super excited for the Ortega Family! We also had another lesson with Angie. We recapped on the Plan of Salvation and had a great discussion about it! We also got some amazing news this week regarding Angie! We got the final ok from President Harris to go to the temple with Angie on the 18th!! This is going to be an extremely powerful experience for her and I'm incredibly grateful that I get to be there with her!

This upcoming week we have Zone Conference again. In preparation, President has asked us to focus on making daily contact goals each day leading up to our conference. We've had some really powerful experiences as we've set high goals and put every effort into reaching them. On Saturday we had a goal to contact 36 people (just some clarification a contact is when we have any interaction with another person whether they accept our message or not) and we ended the day with 42 contacts! That night while we were walking through an apartment complex trying to find a specific house, I saw this guy standing out in the parking lot. It was getting dark and we were about to head home, but the spirit told me we needed to go talk to this guy. At first I wasn't a huge fan of the idea because it was getting dark and we weren't in the best part of town, but the prompting came again. We walked over and started talking to him. His name is Johnathan and we were able to get his phone number so hopefully we'll be able to set up a return appointment. Even if we don't end up teaching Johnathan, I know that Lord needed us to talk to him that night. I'm just glad I was in the place to hear that prompting and feel confident that I was following the spirit. As we've set high goals this week, it's helped us to work harder and put a lot more effort into finding. We're seeing the blessings from it!

Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week is a great one for y'all! Let me know if you're in need of any prayers this week! Love y'all!
