Missionary Chronicles: "The Most Wonderful Sound I've Ever Heard Is The Sound of Water Running In The Church"

Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? I hope it was great and you were able to see the hand of the Lord everyday. It's only been 5 days since my last email, but we've had a lot happen so I'm excited to fill y'all in. First, my Grandma Blackburn and my aunt Anglea both had their birthday this past week! Happy Birthday to you both! I hope it was amazing!!

On Friday we went back out and helped Brother Terrh again on his property. With the huge flood a couple weeks ago, the bridge we built was washed clear down the river. Our job was to somehow recover all of the railroad ties and get them back up to the job site. There were many obstacles in our way hahah and this was definitely one of the hardest jobs I've done. One of the big obstacles with catch y'all by surprise. When we pulled up to Brother Terry's he told us that there was a deer in the river. The deer had obviously fallen in and drowned. We needed to get the deer out of the river before we could start working. Brother Terry asked me if I'd be willing to get the deer and of course I accepted! Thankfully the deer was still pretty small (probably about 8 months old) so it wasn't all that heavy. The Georgia mud, trees/bushes, and the river itself all seemed to be working against me but I did eventually get the deer out. Now, I have pictures of the deer however for the sake of my Mama who I know reads my emails I won't include them. If you would like to see the pictures send me an email and I'd be glad to show you haha.

The crowning moment of the week happened on Saturday as I watched Guinevere enter the waters of Baptism! After a two year struggle of trying to get her baptized, the Lord's timing was finally correct. Guinevere was the first Baptism of my mission which makes this extra special! As I was filling the font on Saturday morning, I was just thinking back over the last 8 months and all the people who I've worked with. I've grown to love people a different way on my mission, a way that I can only attribute to seeing others through the eyes of our Savior. As I was thinking about each of those individuals who I had worked with and had hope of seeing get baptized, I was filled with peace as the Lord reminded me that their time will come.

We got transfer news last night, and I'll be staying here in Paper Mill with Sister Christman for another transfer. I'm super excited to see what the Lord has for us these next 6 weeks.

Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week. I hope this next week is great! Look forward to conference this weekend and remember to go in with a question! I love y'all!!
