Missionary Chronicles: The Moment I've Always Dreamed Of
Hola a todos!
How's everyone doing? I hope y'all had a great week and saw the hand of the Lord in your life! We had a pretty awesome week here in Paper Mill and I'm suoer excited to fill y'all in!
Before I get into the email I just want to mention that Georgia all the sudden decided to be freezing haha. Overnight thr temperatures dropped from the 70s to the 40s lol. I was not prepared, but I wore a sweater for the first time since April so that was nice haha.
The work was awesome this week! We dis a whole bunch of service for our memebers which was super good! We love our memebers so much so we always appreciate the opportunity to serve them!
We also had Zone Conference this past week! I always love Zone Conference and the opportunity it gives us missionaries to be taught by our mission leaders! The focus of this conference was faith and prayer. Sister Harris gave an amazing training on faith and how faith unlocks the power of God in our lives. Then, President trained on then power of prayer and how it links to faith. President challenged us to start "praying with knowledge". Basically this means that we pray for things that we know our will and the Lord's are already aligned. As we've put this into practice over the past couple of days we've seen the blessings! And that leads me into our huge miracle of the week!!
So, our bishop got a text from a member in another part of Georgia with the information for a girl who was in need of help with finances. Bishop Bryan sent Sister Christman and I over to meet her and find out more about the situation. We went over on Wednesday and met Macy for the first time. She is 23 years old and is a single mother of 3 kids all under the age of 3. Macy has been though so much in her life! She's really a remarkable person! Her devotion to those three little kids of hers is super admirable! Anyways, as we were talking we found out that the member who originally reached out to Bishop Bryan is actually Macy's Sister. Macy made the connection pretty quickly that we were from the same church. We invited Macy to hear the lessons and she said yes! We left Macy with a Book of Mormon and set another appointment for Friday. We went back on Friday and taught Macy the first lesson (the Restoration). It's pretty rare that we come across someone who is as prepared as Macy is. As we taught, she would periodically stop us and repeat back to us all of the doctrine we had just taught her! The coolest part happened when we talked about the Saviors life. We mentioned that was baptized to give us an example to follow. Macy then said, "so I was baptized when I was younger, but is that something I can do again? I want it to be my decision". I legit started crying while sitting in her living room. We put Macy on date to be baptized on November 6th! Macy is one of the people who I've been praying to find since I started my mission. Every day I pray for Heavenly to lead me to those who he is preparing to hear my testimony! I feel so blessed and humbled to have had this prayer answered and to have found Macy!
I would like to ask y'all to keep Macy in your prayers. Although she is super prepared, we have 3 weeks to get het ready for baptism and she's only heard the first lesson haha. Please pray that she will continue to have such and open and willing heart toward the church and the things that she's learning!
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week goes great for y'all! Remeber to give the Lord priority in your lives! You'll be blessed for that! Love y'all!!
