Missionary Chronicles: And Then There Were Two...But Wait, There's More
Hola a todos!
How was everyone's week? Hopefully y'all were able to count the small miracles in everyday!
To get started I'll explain the email title. Recently Argentina opened their boarders to missionaries again so we had a BUNCH of missionaries who were preparing to leave for their original assignments. This in turn meant that there would be some movements in the mission to fix the companionships after the reassigned missionaries left. Anyways, we got a call on Tuesday night and the APs told us that Hermana Pease was getting ET'd (emergency transfered)! This was actually heartbreaking news because we wanted to spend Christmas together sooo bad. She got moved to Lanier to be with a Sisters who's comp left for Argentina. It was super hard to say bye to Sister Pease because the three of us have gotten to be sooo close these past couple weeks! She's going to do great things though, and I get to see her on Tuesday for our mission Christmas party haha so that's nice.
And now, the other half of the email title. We got transfer calls last night and Sister Broederlow and I are staying together and we will be training a new missionary! We're are super excited and also pretty nervous. Sister Broederlow and I were pretty much thrown into taking over the area after Sister Pease left but we're both super motivated because we both want to be the best trainers out there!
So yeah, all of that made for a pretty wild week haha. However, between the craziness of the ET and everything we were able to teach a pretty cool lesson! We taught this lady named Patricia the day before Hermana Pease left. Patricia was found through English Class a few transfers back when the area was first opened. We went over on Wednesday and taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I was able to give a quick review of the Restoration. I recited the First Vision in Spanish for the first time in 15 weeks and let me tell y'all...the Spirit was so insanely strong. I was able to remeber the words and I was able to communicate clearly and Patricia loved it! This was definitely a huge blessing!
Alright y'all the highlight of the week was the baptism on Saturday. I'm realizing now that I never told y'all about Antonio and Leonor. They are a couple who the Elders found 3 weeks ago. They found Antonio working on his truck and offered to help and that led to them teaching the Restoration and inviting him and his wife Leonor to our English Class. At English Class is where we first met them! Let me tell y'all...these were the most prepared people I've met my entire mission! After only being taught for 4 weeks they quit coffee, came to church every Sunday, come to a branch activity, came to multiple member dinners with us, and prepared themselves to be baptized. Even though the Elders found and taught Antonio and Leonor, all of us Riverside missionaries were blessed by the chance to work with them! Saturday was a beautiful day for the Branch!
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope y'all have an awesome upcoming week! I look forward to filling y'all in about training next week! Love y'all!
Hermana Adams
