Missionary Chronicles: Noches En México
Hola a todos!
How was everyone's week? I hope it was great and that y'all had opportunities to serve those around you!
My week was super busy, but we had a lot of good times! For starters, we had Zone Conference this week. As TL's us and the Zone Leaders lead the Zone trainings at Zone Conference. We did a whole bunch of planning leading up to the conference on Thursday, and it went super well! It feels good to have my first Zone Conference training under my belt!
Teaching was a little bit of a low this week. Most of the 8 new people we found last week actually didn't end up working out, so that was a little difficult. However, we still had a couple of super powerful lessons. We started teaching this one lady who's name is Vilma. She lives in the trailer park that us missionaries lovingly refer to as México. Y'all know that I've come to have a deep love for trailer parks and the experiences that I've had there because of my mission. Anyways, this particular trailer park is our México in this area. We met this lady while we were walking around last week and wisashed said we could come back and share a message. We went over on Wednesday night and taught her her Restoration. This was honestly one of the coolest lessons of my mission because of the environment we were in. We pull up and Vilma is outside her trailer with a Giant garbage can burning a bunch of wood in the can. She's got a bunch of wooden chairs set up around the garbage barrel and invites us to sit down. The Sun was setting and this particular sunset made the sky look like it was on fire. As we taught the Restoration, someone started playing Hispanic music on the trumpet a couple of trailers down. The Christmas lights were on and the Spirit was there. This was just such a cool environment to teach in and for a moment I forgot I was in the US lol.
I've got a quick Spiritual thought that I want to share with y'all this week. I hope everyone had the chance to watch the Christmas Devotional last night with the First Presidency. I loved Sister Craig's talk about the spiritual gifts we can recieve. We've all been given unique gifts that can be used to bless the lives of those around us. Each of you have special talents and gifts and I'd invite you to find ways to share them this week! I'd love to hear any cool experiences you have!
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! This next week is going to be crazy busy with transfers so I'm excited to fill y'all in next Monday! Hope y'all have a great week! Love y'all!
