Missionary Chronicles: A Fire Week...Literally

Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? I hope y'all had amazing opportunities and found ways to see the hand of the Lord each day! This week was super busy and super awesome! I'm excited to fill you guys in!

We had Zone Conference this week which is always my favorite part of each transfer! It's awesome to gather as missionaries and be taught and uplifted by each other! This Conference, President put a huge emphasis on Setting Goals and Making Plans. It was awesome to hear his input and I'm excited to see the changes that will come from more thorough plans put forth by the missionaries. Our training as Zone Leadership went super well! We trained on the chapter about Christ-Like Attributes in PMG and how that can help us to elevate our decipleship. I also got to see Hermana Broederlow and Hermana Fitzhugh again, so of course we had to take a little family picture haha.

We had an amazing lesson with Sammy and Jimmy this week! We taught them about the commandments because they want to make sure they're doing all they can to be ready for their baptism on March 13th. As we were talking, Jimmy mentioned that he wants to get involved in the church and asked how he can get a calling! Sammy and Jimmy are so prepared and I learn more about my Savior everytime I'm around them! Funny story actually that occurred during this lesson lol. We were eating empanadas with them before we started teaching and out of the blue, Sammy and Jimmy daughter Vicki (age 4) turns to Hermana Flanary and said "porque hablas así?". This basically translates to, "Why do you talk like that?". This little 4 year old absolutely roasted my companion's Spanish lol. It was all good though and we all got a huge laugh out of it.

Now, y'all probably remember the lady I wrote about a couple weeks ago who's membership records got lost. Well, her name is Gloria and we were finally able to get in with her this week. After explaining how amazing of an opportunity this is for her to be baptized again, she accepted our invitation and will be getting baptized on March 12th! She's so amazing and her story and faith are truly inspiring!

Tatiana and Antonella came to church again yesterday. Tatiana looked like she was happier and doing better. Please keep the prayers coming though, we are meeting with them tonight and we'll hopes figure out the baptism situation then.

Ok, no to explain the email title. On Wednesday we were coming home from our District Council and Lunch afterwards. We pull into our parking spot outside our apartment building and we see a big billow of smoke behind the building. We run around to see what's going on and we see two of our neighbors with a bunch of fire extinguishers putting out a fire that started in the woods behind our apartment. Thankfully they were home and could smell the fire burning behind the building and were able to get to it before too much if the forest caught fire. The Fire Department showed up and got the rest of the fire taken care of so now we're all good. It made for a very exciting afternoon though!

Well y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week is an awesome one for each of you! If you are in need of any prayers, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email! I love y'all!
