Missionary Chronicles: The Lost Record
Buenas!!
How was everyone's week? I hope it was a great one full of miracles! I've had an awesome week in this amazing new area and I'm so excited to fill y'all in!
I'm now in the Magnolia Spanish Ward here in Duluth Georgia! Being in a Spanish Ward is so crazy because there are just so many people! It's like the amount of people in an English Ward but they're all Latino! Literally so much fun! The members are so awesome and they love the missionaries! There are now 9 missionaries in the ward and the members feed all of us every night! I haven't been fed this well my whole misison and I'm so here for it haha.
Our English Class her actually pops off which is still so shocking to me! We had 12 people at our class on Tuesday and 4 on Thursday! The people who come to our English Class are so awesome! Most of them haven't been in thr States for very long so they have a very minimal knowledge of English. Teaching English Classes is one of the most fulfilling things I do as a missionary! Just the knowledge that I'm helping someone get one step closer to knowing the English Language makes me feel so good!
We are teaching so many people right now and it's so cool! We have about 4 people who we're about to put on date and a few more coming up on the horizon! We are teaching a bunch of families which is something I haven't done a whole lot of on my mission. It's super cool to see how the gospel can bless and change the lives of each family member so differently. We had 6 of our friends come to church with us yesterday which was sooo cool! I also got to see Tatiana and Antonella again which I've been praying for! Tatiana is on date to be baptized on March 5th but Antonella is still scared of being baptized. Please keep them in your prayers especially that Antonella's fears will be calmed and she'll see the importance of being baptized.
Alright, so I've got to explain my email title and let me tell y'all...this is literally the craziest story lol. So, there is a little kid named Landon who the Sisters of Magnolia baptized last transfer. While I was asking about him, Hermana Flanary told me about Landon's mom. Apparently Landon's mom was baptized as a young girl in Guatemala and has been active on and off her whole life. However, when the Sisters started teaching Landon, they realized that the mom didn't have records in the Area Book. They brought this up to President Harris and after he did a lot of searching, the conclusion was made that her records are lost. Somewhere down the line her membership records got lost so technically she's not actually a member of the Church. So, we are going to be putting her on date to be baptized again this evening. This is just a crazy story but I'm excited to help Gloria make these covenants with God.
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope that this next week is a great one! Look.for opportunities to share the light! Love y'all!
Hermana Adams
