Missionary Chronicles: "La Hermana Taylor Swift"

Hola a todos!

I hope everyone had a great week and that all is well back home! I hope all my Florida people are enjoying the warmer weather cause it's still in the 50s here haha

This week was really good! As y'all know we've been forced to do a lot more finding again. Finding can be really difficult cause it's hard to see much success right away. However, we had a really cool experience on Monday! Hermana Hammond and I decided to go and so some late evening finding at one of the Tiendas in our area. I put in the name for a specific tienda I know and we started driving there. Turns out, there are two tiendas with that same name on that street hahah and the GPS took us to the one I wasn't thinking of. Instead of driving to the other one, we decided to try this tienda put and as we were walking to the door, we saw a man outside waiting on a taxi. We walked up to him and he got suoer excited and began to tell us that he met missionaries not long ago at Walmart but didn't have enough time to talk to them then. He expressed to us how interested he was and said that he wanted to come to church with us!! This was a huge miracle and not at all a coincidence that the GPS took us to the different tienda! The Lord knew exactly where he needed us to be and he led us there!!

We also had the chance this week to get back in with a recent convert who's gone inactive. Her name is Elena and she's so awesome! We've been able to serve her this week and it's been amazing to see how her heart has been reopened to the missionaries!

We had exchanges with the STLs on Tuesday and those are always a blast! While on exchanges I taught a lesson to Raimunda and it was super powerful! I had the opportunity to teach Raimunda how to pray and I was able to draw on the experience of Enos to help in that lesson. My testimony of personal study has grown so much since I've been out on my mission. There have been countless times where I've studied something in personal study that I've been able to draw back on during the day to help someone! Crazy how the Lord works hahaha.

On Thursday we had the opportunity to go to the Temple! I absolutely love the Atlanta Temple and it really has become a sort of "refuge" for me here in Georgia. As missionaries we put ourselves in the line of fire each day to try and get to these people who need our help the most. Missionary Work is physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing and it can be a lot to deal with at times. I'm so thankful for the chnace to attend the temple and get a break from the crazy ways of missionary work! It truly is a blessing!

Ok to explain the email title, there is a Sister in the ward named Hermana Bautista. She's so awesome and has started feeding all of us missionaries pretty frequently. One thing about Hermana Bautista is that she can't remember names for the life of her haha. So, to combat this problem, each of us missionaries has a nickname to help her remember us. She loves my singing voice and the fact that I love country music so therefore my name is now "La Hermana Taylor Swift". Honestly can't complain hahah

Alright y'all, that's all I have for this week! I invite each of you to spend some time this week preparing for General Conference! I promise that it will be a fruitful experience if we each prepare to be spiritually uplifted! I love y'all and hope you have a great week!
