Missionary Chronicles: "Soy La Nueva Misionera!!"
Hola a todos!!
I hope y'all all had fantastic weeks! This week was a little different but I'll get into that lol.
First off, I want to explain my email title which just happened to be on of the most tender experiences of my whole mission. Y'all know how much I love Sammy and Yimmy with my whole heart! Last Monday night we went over so my companions could say bye before heading home, and Viki (their 4 year old) was not keen on them leaving and me getting a new companion. So, she took Hermana McBlain's tag and put it on her shirt and said "ahora, soy la nueva misionera!!" This translates to, "Now, I'm the new missionary!!" So tender!! She came and stood next to me all proud to have that tag on! Let me tell y'all, "Hermana Viki" will be coming at y'all in roughly 15 years haha! Be prepared!!
I officially have a new companion and she's so awesome! Her name is Hermana Hammond and it's been a pleasure working with her this past week! We have a very similar drive and desire to work so it's made this week really productive!
This week has been kind of different than last transfer though, because we've been doing a TON of finding! All of our really progressing people were just baptized so now we kind of have to start fresh. However, we've found some really cool people who will hopefully become people were teaching! We had one really cool finding experience on Tuesday! We were out walking and knocking doors in the neighborhood of our Relief Society President when we passed by a purple house! The color of this house really caught my eye and we decided to knock on the door. A lady named Raimunda opened the door and upon hearing who we were, she let us right in. We ended up teaching the Restoration on the fly just on her couch and it was super powerful!! We have a return appointment set up tomorrow so hopefully it all pans out!!
For my spiritual thought I'd love to share some insights I had from our MLC (mission leadership council) this past week! We talked a lot about the difference of Fun vs. Joy and it was super interesting. We came to the conclusion that fun is more of a temporal type of enjoyment and joy is actuallywhat come from living a life centerled on Jesus Christ! We talked about how the missionaries can find more joy in the work and the ways we can help them to get there! This week, I invite y'all to focus on the ways you can find more joy in life! I'd love to hear how this goes!
Well y'all, that's all I have for this week! I hope this next week goes great for y'all and that you're able to find more joy! Love y'all!!
