Missionary Chronicles: Pure Joy

Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week! I hope it was amazing and that y'all LOVED General Conference as much as I did!!

This week was really awesome! We taught a bunch, had Zone Conference, and that amazing General Conference!!

We met with a family this week who has some relatives in the ward. They originally got contact with the church when they came to their nephews baptism! There names are Jocelyn and Carlos and they're so awesome!! We met with then and taught them the Plan of Salvation and they loved it so much! Come to find out that they've been reading reading Book of Mormon already and they are beginning to find that it's true!! Member references are the way to go!!

On Wednesday we met with a lady named Karina, who Hermana Hammond found on exchanges a couple weeks ago! We also taught her the Plan of Salvation and she was so into it! She's a young mom with a 6 month old and a husband who has to work all the time. It was a super peaceful experience as we shared the truth that comes from the Plan of Salvation!

Now y'all, I have to take this opportunity to share the powerful spiritual experience that occurred for me this past weekend during General Conference. These past couple of weeks I've been praying hard asking Heavenly Father for a General Conference I'd never forget. This Conference was my last Conference with my tag on and I was really hoping that I'd feel peace in the work and effort that I've given to the Lord thus far in my mission! What a Conference to receive that answer! As I listened to the inspired messages given on the need for missionaries and the essential work that I've been called to do, I was filled with so much peace and gratitude for the opportunity I've had to serve a mission! I'm thankful for the time I've had and even more thankful for the couple months I have left in the service of the Lord.

This Conference was by far one that I'll never forget! I'd like to share a quick part from my journal last night...
"As I listened to General Conference these past couple days my heart has been full of gratitude to my Savior! What a time to be a missionary! President Harris has taken a focus of trying to help us missionaries find more joy in the work and I've definitely felt pure joy this weekend listening to the Prophet and Apostles! I didn't think my joy could get any greater, until President Nelson made an announcement I'll never forget...he announced a new temple being built in TAMPA, FLORIDA!!! As tears streamed down my face, my mind was flooded with my fondest memories in the Orlando Temple. My first time doing baptisms with my mom, my experiences with my whole family in the temple, my first time going through the temple, and especially the way I felt as I sat in the sealing room as we were sealed to Ashtynn! I can't put into words how blessed I feel to be getting a temple at home! I know having a Temple built in Tampa will bring so many blessings to this place that I love so much!"
I truly feel so blessed and so excited to have a temple built so close to home! What a blessing it is to be able to enter the House of the Lord and feel that piece of Heaven on earth! Florida family, I'm rejoicing with you

I hope you all had equally powerful experiences as you listened to Conference this weekend! If you missed any talks, I invite you to read them again! These are the Leaders the Lord has chosen to guide his church at this time! We are truly so blessed!

That's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week provides y'all with chances to grow closer to the Savior! I love y'all so much!! Chao!!
