Missionary Chronicles: We Love Atlanta Traffic...JK
Hola a todos!
How was everyone's week? I hope it was full of miracles everyday that gave y'all the strength to keep moving forward!
This week was another super busy one here for us! We did a whole lot of teaching and we've got some incredible new people were working with!
Before I get into it, quick shout-out to one of my old companions, Hermana Flanary, who showed up at church yesterday and gave me the surprise of my life! I really wish someone had a video of that moment haha
We met this guy named Jesús last Sunday (Easter) while walking around his apartment complex. He was drinking outside with his friends and we gave him an invitation to English Class and asked if he was interested in a message. He said he was so we set up an appointment on Thursday after our English Class. I was on exchanges that day, so Sister Hammond taught that lesson and this guy really is so prepared! We taught him again on Saturday Night and he explained to us that he and his friends never go outside on Sundays but on that particular day they decided to! If they hadn't been outside, we wouldn't have met them! The Lord puts people exactly where they need to be to make contact with his missionaries! During our lesson on Saturday night, Jesús was explaining how he felt a feeling he'd never felt before when he met us for the first time on the street. The member we had with us explained that as missionaries we are representatives of Jesus Christ and because of that, be walks beside us. Jesús started tearing up a little and said that he would give anything to feel that feeling again! So tender!
We also taught our guy Salvador for the last time! Turns out he was just here visiting and he returned back to México yesterday. It's ok though because we got all of his México information and we've made contact with the Elders down there who will be working with him! Prayers that they can get together once he gets back!
We had exchanges this week and I went up to Milton/Web Bridge with Sister Bulkley! It was awesome to be up there with her right before she takes over the area! I've loved getting to watch this sweet missionary grow and gain more confidence! While we were up there I had to stop and say high to some Florida family! We stopped and said hi to the Bouton Family and it was awesome to see them again!
On Saturday morning we had a lesson with Amara who is the family that lives like 30 minutes away haha. The only way to get over there is by taking the I-285, which will probably give me PTSD for the rest of my life lol. For those of you who aren't familiar, the traffic here in Atlanta is something fierce...and a major problem road is the 285. It's a 6 lane road and currently 2 of those lanes are under construction. On this particular day there was also an added accident that blocked 3 more of the lanes. All of this mess meant that there was only one available lane...turning our nice 30 minute drive into almost and hour and a half hahaha. I'm going to kiss everything about my mission...except for I-285 haha
Ok y'all, we got our transfer news last night! I'm staying here in Magnolia and I'll be getting Hermana Nava! I'm sooo excited to work with Sister Nava! She's a native Spanish speaker from México and one of the coolest missionaries around! I'm so excited to work with and learn from her during this next transfer!
Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week is great for y'all and that you are blessed with many tender mercies! Love y'all! Adelante!
