Missionary Chronicles: Buying Corn And Saving Souls

Hola a todos!

How are y'all doing? How was this week? I hope it was amazing and that your days we're blessed with miracles!

This week was really awesome here! We've been seeking and expect miracles and they've been pouring in!

This week we had exchanges with the Sisters and I stayed here in Magnolia with Sister Tingey! She's the cutest and we had such a fun time together! As y'all know, as a TL I get to work with all kids of missionaries young and old haha. Sister Tingey has been on her mission for about 4 weeks so this was her first exchange. I made sure to show her how much fun missionary work can be when you work as hard as you can! We found two new people together and it was great! Here's one really amazing story that happend to us on exchanges...

Last week Hermana Nava and I were knocking in the Trailer Park and we felt impressed to knock this one trailer. We met a lady named Tatiana and she told us to come back the following week, which happened to be while we were on exchanges. When we went back Tatiana let us right in and I started asking her about her story with religion. She explained to us that when she was growing up in Peru she was super close with this lady who was wheelchair bound but who was also a member of the Church! Every week Tatiana would go over to her house and wheel her to church on Sunday! Her friend passed away a few years ago and Tatiana told us how she's never seen missionaries here in the US. When she saw us on her doorstep she saw our tags and immediately recognized who we were! I decided to teach her about the Plan of Salvation and to testify that we know where her friend is! This turned out to.be the right decision because as I taught about the Resurrection she stopped me and said "todos van a ser resucitados?" (Everyone will be Resurrected?). I responded and said yes and she started to cry. She then said "Even my newborn baby who passed away last week?". As those words left her mouth my whole world stopped, I had no idea what to say. As I sat in this dark trailer across from a beloved daughter of God who's going through so much heartache, I felt the weight of my calling more than ever. As missionaries we are set apart to represent Jesus Christ here on the earth so I did what what Savior would do and I just listened. I said a quick prayer in my heart and I felt the spirit take over as I testified of the truths we know through thr Plan of Salvation. I'm constantly amazed at how the Lord works through me as a missionary. I'm only 20 years old and in the grand scheme of things I don't have a whole lot of life experience yet but I've learned that the Lord makes up the difference. Y'all the Lord is so good! I see time and time again everyday of how he never leaves us alone and comfortless! He'll meet you where you're at if you reach out and take his hand!

Another cool miracles that we saw this week was that we were finally able to meet with Amara again. We're able to put her back on date for baptism! Her new date is June 18th! Please keep her in your prayers! Satan is working hard on her but we're going to continue strengthening her faith!

Ok, one last funny moment of the week. On Saturday night Hermana Nava and I were out knocking this one street and we had been having like zero success haha. We saw this one family outside of a truck up the road so we walked down there to talk with them. Turns out they were selling "Elote" which is Mexican Sweet Corn. This family wasn't very interested but we made a deal with them haha. We would buy some corn if the agreed to have 1 lesson with the missionaries in their area. We're not sure if they'll hold up their end of the bargain but we got their phone number haha. The things we do to save souls haha.

Alright y'all, that's all I've got for this week! I hope this next week is great for y'all! Remeber to look for the goodness of God all around you! Love y'all!
