Missionary Chronicles: New Snack...Hormigas

Hola a todos!

How was everyone's week? I hope ot was awesome and you were able to see God guiding your path along the way!

This week was kind of a slower one here for us, one of those weeks that kind of seems to drag on. It's alright though, because we still saw some miracles!

This past week we had Zone Conference...my last Zone Conference as a missionary. It was full of all kinds of emotion but I had one extremely powerful experience that I'd like to share with y'all. As y'all know I've spent the last 9 months of my mission as a TL meaning I've been tasked with training and supporting the other missionaries in my zone. This has been a challenging assignment to say the least but I've also loved every minute of it! Part of this assignment has me training at Zone Conference each transfer. This particular transfer was filled was all kind of emotions knowing this would be my last training as a full-time missionary. Know, when I recieve spiritual promptings I'm not one to ever hear "voices". However, as I closed my training with the word "Amen" I felt a rush of the spirit one of the strongest times ever in my life and heard the distinct words, "Well done!". It was a crazy moment for me to hear my Father in Heaven congratulating me for my work. Itbwas definitely an experience I'll never forget!

This week at English Class one of the lady's who's been coming recently made arrepas (Venezuelan food) and brought it to class. She ended up being the only one there that night so we all ate arrepas and practiced English haha. After the class she invited us and the Elders over to learn to make Arrepas on Sunday Night! We went over yesterday and it was awesome! Not only did we learn to make arrepas, but this family is also so down to hear the gospel so Sister Nava and I are know teaching them! Celestial Arrepas if you ask me haha.

As for an update on Jesús, we're not 100% sure what to do at this point. He canceled his lesson this week and still didn't come to church. We're going to have to move his baptism back which probably means it'll happen after I leave the mission which is super unfortunate. There is still time for a miracle though! Please pray that he'll be strengthend and that everything will happen in God's perfect time!

As for my email title...y'all are going to love this lol (Mama, you might want to skip this part). So, Hermano Leo from the ward has become a really good friend of Sister Nava and I as he's been helping us to teach Jesús. He's from Chiapas, Mexico and on Wednesday decided he was going to bring us a new snack to try from Chiapas. Well, this guy brought us Hormigas (English Translation: Ants). Yep, y'all read that right, Ants and big ones too! They actually aren't all that bad, after you get over the fact of what you're actually eating. He gave us a bunch so we brought them to Zone Conference and somehow convinced President and Sister Harris to try them as well! I don't know of President Harris will ever look at us the same way hahah

Anyways, that's all I've got for this week y'all! I hope this next week is a great one! Remember to turn everything over to the Lord! He'll help you through! Love y'all!!
